Weekend fun

Friday night, Stephen and I went to watch the Homeschool Homecoming football game (well, I was volunteering but also watching). We had fun watching Gloria and her friend cheer. They did a great job! (Meanwhile Austin supervised while Anastasia had her friends over for her fall gathering. But I forgot to have them take photos for me!).

This morning, this cutie had her last volleyball game. She served the winning point!

Now on to friends' birthday parties, watching the Aggie game and lost of other stuff to keep us busy. Rarely a dull moment!

Kitchen project

It was originally forecast to be a week but turned into almost 2. However, the end result was well worth it!

Moved the kitchen into the entryway. The workmen used the dining room as a staging/drying area so we were without that too! Thankfully a cool front blew in, and we enjoyed some front porch picnics.

We had these plastic walls up to close off the kitchen that made it really tricky to move between rooms of the house (and one of the kids documented me going back-and-forth)!

The walls are down. Allllmost done!

Finally finished tonight!!!

We may need to find some less-clashy bar stools, but we are so happy with the results.

More sports and a costume piano performance

We had our usual Saturday morning sports, and I managed to get a photo of Sebastian playing center (but none of Cecilia!). Then today we had a costume piano performance for an assisted living facility.

Fall gathering - Younger girls version

Last year Anastasia had a fall friends gathering. As we were preparing to do it again, Cecilia insisted she  needed to have one too. We were expecting the kitchen cabinet painting to be done or almost done (it wasn't even close!). But despite the mess, we continued on. We made good use of the schoolroom and treehouse, and they all had a great time!

They decorated cookie houses, had a snack and played at the treehouse, painted pumpkins and even squeezed in a little nail spa time at the end!

Weekend fun

The kids had early games this morning, and we were all worn out. Sebastian's game was especially rough (hence the ice packs!). (you can see our makeshift kitchen in the entryway behind them. The cabinets are being painted this week!).

Pawpaw ordered a bucket of baseballs for Sebastian to make home practice easier.

These guys love watching sports together. Judging by their expressions, the Aggies must have had a bad play when I took this. Lol!

Pumpkin Patch

 I am down to only 2 kids who want to come with me to the pumpkin patch. I sure love these cuties. We had fun picking pumpkins and taking pictures!

 And just so we don't get bored with volleyball season ending, Sebastian started baseball games this week! 

His team is the Dodgers. Go #12!!!

Volleyball Finale

 Anastasia had her last practice with her team today, then they had a recap, some prayer time and some treats and fun out on the sand courts. It was bittersweet for sure! We hope to be back with this awesome group next year (and at winter and spring training too!). She had a great first season, learned a lot, and we are SO proud of her!

She is starting a decorated cookie business and made some volleyball cookies to go in the gift to their coach.
