Asparagus girl

She sure has unusual taste for a 2 year old. She loves asparagus, broccoli and brussel sprouts but won't touch any fruit at all!

4 month Stats

Sebastian was 16lbs. 3oz and 26 inches long...around 70th percentile I think. His head circumference was above the 100th percentile!

Sweet little ags

I put this shirt in Sebastian's drawer, and it was immediately picked as his outfit for the day. Then everyone dressed to match him. I love our little Ags!

Annual K family visit

We are so thankful that the K family comes to see us every summer. What sweet friends. We always have so much fun with them!

Their baby, Emily, sure loved Sebastian. She is a big fan of babies!

Surrounded by girls, but this guy still had a great time! He was actually buddies with Anne, but here he is with Mary.

These two hit it off in the kitchen!

And so did these two. They did an encore of their smoked ribs from last year. They were amazing! These guys make great BBQ buddies!

All the kiddos lined up by age (except Emily!)

Wouldn't be complete without dancing in the living room

Emily accepted Mariana snuggles as a substitute for Mommy...so sweet.

And miss Laine grabbed some baby snuggles
Here's looking forward to next year!

4 Months Old

Sebastian is 4 months old! He has made a lot of little leaps this month including going to bed a little easier/faster (it was taking an hour or more to get him down, now about 45 minutes) and sometimes I even lay him down still slightly awake, and he puts himself to sleep. Mommy is super proud of this improvement! He is also back to sleeping longer stretches, which he had taken a break from for about a month! He dropped his dinnertime nap around 6:15, so this bumped bedtime up from 8:30 to about 7:30. I was worried since it is still so light out, but he has been doing fine with it. He is also holding his head up well, making lots of expressions, pulling anything and everything into his mouth, even people's fingers (ick!).  He is just a really sweet, happy baby! He also had his first fever a week ago, which was a little scary, but he handled it well and recovered quickly...thanks be to God! I will have stats on him next week since the K family is visiting.

Wedding fun

We had the blessing of being invited to a wedding, and one where Austin did not have to sing! So we hired a sitter for the three napping little ones during the ceremony. It was so nice to sit with my sweetheart and reminisce a bit. We picked everyone up for the reception.

The children enjoyed blowing bubbles outside with friends.

Big boy

This guy is growing so fast. The children all had a cold that ended in a cough. He has it now too, and though he is a little more fussy at times, he is still such a sweet, happy baby! I took him to the doctor just to make sure it wasn't serious, and he weighed 15 1/2 lbs. The nurse didn't believe it and actually weighed him twice to make sure. He sure likes tummy time more than the others did, too, especially since it means he can suck on his whole arm!

Personal Piano Recital

Yesterday morning, we hosted a small piano recital in our home. Last year, Austin - in cooperation with Allia's piano teacher - issued a challenge to Allia. She could have a year to learn a long, complex piece of music. In exchange for her effort, she would earn the American Girl doll of her choice. She was up for the challenge and has spent the last year learning Sonata in C by Mozart, in 3 movements. I have admired her patience and diligence (and that of her teacher!), as it takes both to work your way through such a long piece without loosing heart. She did a beautiful job playing it for her teacher, her choir director, Godparents, and good friends the R family. Their boys joined her in playing a few of their pieces, so she didn't have to be the only performer. It was a nice time spent with everyone, and Allia is excited to now be able to pick her doll! I had big plans to take her to the AG store in Houston, but she wants a doll that looks like her. So we will have to order it! We may take a trip there anyway...once baby gets a little older...just for fun. So proud of our Allia!

The R boys are so sweet and very good musicians! I was proud of our Godson playing his piece on such short notice (we only asked them if they wanted to play something a couple of days before). :)

Rest in Peace

My Dad's oldest brother passed away yesterday after a battle with cancer. May the soul of Preston Edward Bourg and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Our herd

Today was Cow Appreciation Day at Chick Fil A...I have previously always thought it a little much to dress up as a cow for a free meal. But Allia's Godmommy emailed to let us know about it, and Allia and the other children ran with it! So what could I do but go along? I did dress up too, but no photos of that. ;) Here is our little herd of cows. I thought the girls did a great job with just minimal help from me! And we had free dinner. Can't beat that!

Independence Day!

We started the day off with mass. Then, Austin and the children went off to the Cookie Company to check out the day-olds while I let Sebastian get a nap. Boy did they hit the jackpot! Yummy. We went to our usual in-town event, the celebration at the George Bush Library this evening for games, jumpers, watermelon, cotton candy, sno cones and a picnic dinner. No fireworks this year with a wee one, though! To bed for us!

Stephen picked out their clothes this morning to match. He did such a great job! Sweet boy.

 And the pretty girls...
Some very loud blow horns at the Bush Library celebration!
Some Daddy time...he was not so sure about all this commotion. Love that face!
She jumped for a good 30 minutes! Cutie!

Baby moments

Butterfly gym buddies

I caught him pulling this toy into his mouth to chew/suck on. So cute!
