Two mamas

I have suspected for a few weeks now that Gloria was using "mama" for Mariana, not just for me. My suspicion was confirmed this morning as Gloria looked right at Mariana and continued to say "mama" in her demanding little baby voice until Mariana acknowledged her. So now instead of two "Ayyya"s we have two "mama"s. Someday she will get it all straight!;-)

What to do

when you have an empty box in the middle of the living room...

She does her act while singing "All around the cobblers bench, the monkey chased the weasel.....POP goes the weasel!" Really cute! Gloria loved it!

A tent

Perfect entertainment for an indoor kind of day. All 3 girls really enjoyed it!

a new word

and a really good one, too. Gloria is really saying thank you now. I thought she was before, but sometimes with baby talk it is tough to tell. She was practicing sharing her breakfast with Allia and then asking for it back this morning, and when she would hand a Kix to Allia or want one back, she kept saying, "day-koo" which is obviously thank you! ;-)

Edited: She is now saying another really cute word. "Hiyeeee" to people she meets or sometimes to us when she is playing peekaboo, etc. Really sweet!

Change?

This is an awesome video about Obama's plans for change in America. A must view!

smile

Gloria is getting more teeth...that explains the recent nap-bucking behavior! She has two molars which have poked through about 1/3 of the way! Yay for her (well except the not sleeping part)!

She also received her first haircut today. What a big girl!

a victory

sort of. Mariana will now tee tee in a place other than her pull-up. We figured out potty training is really an issue of will for her, and she didn't want to do it on the potty. So my clever husband gave her an alternative this weekend, and it worked. She goes in the tub. I know, it sounds kind of gross, but this is a major accomplishment for her! She hops in the tub, tee tees, and everyone is happy! Now how to transition her to the potty...hmm....in the meantime we will be cleaning the tub a lot. But it is better than changing sheets and scrubbing floors and washing tee tee laundry all the time!

words

Edited
Gloria has been saying real words again (she had resorted to only her little baby talk language for a while!) Here is her current list:

Outside (ow-suh)
More (muh)
Ball (buh)
Balloon (buh-hhh)
Allia (Ayyya -used for both Allia and Mariana!)
All Done (ah-duh)
Drink (duh)

I forgot ah-oh which actually sounds more like ah-oooo and whoa.

Also, she accomplished climbing into her little rocking chair, sitting down, and rocking herself.

And a video if you are interested. :-)

Sorry for the light blogging...I have a one year old who decided she only needs one nap a day, and it frequently only lasts about 40 minutes! Yikes! I hope her little body adjusts back to longer naps soon!

Yummy!

Why did Mariana get a giant rainbow lollipop today? She went poopy on the potty for the first time!!! Yay! How does she feel about that? Well, she screamed and cried. She is really determined not to potty train because she really does not want to grow up. She is wearing panties and can ask for a pull-up when she needs to go but won't go on the potty! So afterwards, I cuddled her and assured her that she will always be my baby, and she readily accepted the treat (of course)!
