3 Steps!

Sebastian took 3 steps by himself today! We couldn't get it on video, but we managed to catch him balancing on his own.

And a few others for fun

Last Ice Skating

The two ice skating girls finished up last night just in time for soccer to start up. They both passed to the next level, but we will take the next session off from skating as soccer takes over again!

Birthday Dinner

We had my nephew, Jared, over for a birthday dinner last night (his birthday was Saturday). It was so great to see him. He has been at A&M for the last few years, but we hardly ever see him. Crazy! And Sebastian took to him really well as you can see by the big smile!

We usually fast from desserts/treats for Lent as a family, so the children welcomed the opportunity to have a birthday dessert with him, too!

Sleeping beauty

It is not very often that I get a peek at this girl sleeping, as she does not seem to need as much sleep as the rest of the world. But I got a peek the other day and decided to snap a picture.

Outside time

We had lovely weather this last week, and spent as much time outside as possible. Sebastian is really getting around now and loves finding something to use as a walker!

Lito and Lita Visit

We had a wonderful visit with Lito and Lita this last weekend. We went to Saturday evening mass together, and Lito surprised the children with a trip to the carnival after a quick dinner. They were thrilled, as they have been wanting to go for years!!!

Three girls on the hang glider (they said it felt like flying)

 Riding the bumble bee
 And the spinning tea cup
SO MUCH FUN! They were up very late, but it was worth it for sure.

Lita fed Sebastian while I was teaching RE Sunday morning. The quickest way to a boy's heart, you know. ;)

And of course, some reading time with Lito!
We really enjoyed seeing them!

Piano and a portrait

Gloria started piano lessons this week. So exciting!

And this just made such a cute little portrait of a boy admiring himself, I couldn't resist.

Outdoor Fun

We had a lovely weekend outdoors enjoying some beautiful weather. I don't know what we are in for this summer, but these warm breaks in winter sure are nice!

We went to the park and flew kites while the big girls sold koolaid and homemade cookies.

Sunday between lunch and naps, we went on a nature walk. Hard to believe there is so much to discover so close to our house! :) We may have to bring some geology books next time...there were so many interesting and different rocks and rock formations!

Happy Baptism Day, Anastasia!

We had a wonderful day celebrating this sacrament for our sweet girl. She was so excited to get out her baby album and baptism candle.

Daddy brought home special cupcakes at lunch, which she very generously shared with everyone. And she helped me make cake pops for dessert with dinner.

Daddy couldn't resist a little dancing after all of that sugar!

And in closing, last night before bed Stephen and Anastasia set up our own Golgotha in the living room using Stephen's wooden swords! So sweet!

On the Move

Sebastian is definitely mobile now. He has enough balance to use anything that will slide on the floor as a walker...including this castle and big foam block! He will also pull up on a couch and cruise, then drop down and crawl to the next one, pull up again and keep going!  He can make it up the whole flight of stairs too! Yikes!

When he is concentrating he sticks his pointy little tongue out. It is soooo cute!

Super Bowl Ribs

We aren't really into watching football if the Aggies are not playing, but Pawpaw bought some ribs for Austin to smoke Sunday. So after singing at morning mass with the schola, he came home and cooked. We brought them over to Pawpaw and Manah's house for a Super Bowl dinner. It was delicious!

This guy was happy with his sweet potatoes and cheerios. :)
