Other happenings

It is a busy time of year, so blog posts have been sparse. Stephen received a swim backpack from Lito and Lita and was very excited!
Mariana has been crafting and made these shirts for her siblings and a friend
And Allia was inducted as treasurer of our 4H club for next year

Gymnastics girl

Anastasuia had her last pre-K/Kgymastics class (with a beach themed finale, hence the rashguard swimsuit), and now she will be moving to the big kid gym!

Jake's Wedding

After traveling to a swim meet Friday night for Allia, we hit the road again Saturday to travel to my nephew's wedding. Jake is and always has been such a sweet guy with a special place in my heart as my first nephew and fellow lover of children. He is so good with them! I was hoping he would find a lovely wife someday, and he did. His new wife Lairen is precious, and I pray they will have many happy years together!
Here he is, moments before the wedding, trying to woo Cecilia. She wasn't quite convinced enough to leave Manah...
She quickly discovered the dance floor when we got to the reception even before the other kids. She knew exactly what it was for and got busy dancing!

Mariana caught the bouquet! :0
She just keeps on dancing!

We are so happy for Jake and Lairen! May God bless their marriage!

Mother's Day

After such a busy spring and a jam-packed Saturday, we had a blissfully low-key Mother's Day. We spent time together, hung out with Manah, made a little trip to the pool and just relaxed. It was wonderful!

These messy curls make me smile. :)
Austin made this amazing chicken salad with feta for dinner. It was delicious. I love to eat chicken salad but loathe making it because by the time I work with the raw chicken and chop all the vegetables it completely ruins my appetite for both! What a sweet hubby.

Happy First Holy Communion, Stephen!!!

Allia and I made Stephen's cake and pinata together...nice girlie craft time! ;)

All ready for the dress rehearsal. Such a handsome guy!

Our goddaughter (so sad we will not be at the same mass!)
Getting ready on the big morning...He opened his crucifix from Austin and myself.
The mass (picture from photographer of him actually receiving to come later...)

Time to Celebrate!
Opening family gifts...

So thankful for our friends, the R family, who came to celebrate with us!

The pinata (When it was about to bust, the hanger came out so Austin threw it up in the air and let everyone grab when it hit the ground)
A gift from the R family
Stephen is such a sweet boy with a big heart. It was a joy to celebrate such a special day with him. We pray Jesus will fill your heart with His love, buddy!

District 4H

This is not only First Communion weekend but also District 4H weekend! :p Mariana's team competed on Friday and scored 2nd place in their division. They have had a few mishaps/upsets this year, so we were really proud to see them finish strong!
And Allia entered 7 photos in the district photography competition. Three of her photos earned 3rd place in their divisions. So proud of these girls!!!

Another Farewell

We officially bid farewell to our dear, sweet friend Kathy today. She passed away last Wednesday after a short battle with stage 4 breast cancer. The funeral was beautiful but so bittersweet. It is wonderful to have the hope of Heaven for such a special person but so sad to think of the gap her absence will leave in the lives of so many, especially her husband and three young children. May God bless them all. Her husband wanted to have a playground built in her honor/memory. Donations can be made at the following...

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. Amen.
