Weekend moments

Stephen sharing his popsicle with Anastasia...the closed end of course. She was perfectly happy with that since I think the cold felt good on her gums!

Mariana finally pulled two very loose teeth Saturday on the promise of a trip to Gattitown, only to find out that it closed down. Oops! What a brave girl! She scored a trip to Genghis Grill instead and a candy treat from HEB. She now has the classic two tooth gap on top in front. No apples or corn on the cob for a while

Swim time

I have been trying to get together with friends for splash pad and pool dates as much as possible since summer is passing quickly by! We went to the pool this morning with some friends and had lots of fun!

Little Max was so content in his floaty!

They were all holding hands and jumping in together!

A little boy in PJ's

One of life's sweetest things. I think I may cry when he gets too old for the footies! Manah found these, and he loves them. Last night, Austin asked him on his way to bed if he was going to play baseball. He replied in a very matter-of-fact way, "No, I don't have my bat." SO cute!

Cute Stephen moments

(After doing a good job in prayers)
Daddy: Stephen, are you going to be a priest?
Stephen: No, I the Ring Bearer.

(After mass, where we kept telling him he was being a good boy to encourage good behavior)
Mommy: Stephen, you were such a good boy.
Stephen: Yes, and Daddy is good man.
Mommy (smiling): He sure is, Buddy!

Baby moments

Anastasia enjoys her Bumbo...and she needs the practice sitting up. She still just rolls backward if you try to sit her up.

Chewing on a rubber ducky. She sure liked it!

Here she is jumping...she finally figured it out, and look at her go!

Trip to Corpus Christi

We are back from a trip to Corpus Christi for Tia Becky's (Austin's youngest sister) wedding. It was beautiful, and we hung out for some good family fun a few days after.

My guys all ready to go

I will have to add some better pictures later. I had a fussy baby in tow and just really didn't want to make a scene, so this was the best I could do....Gloria was so smiley and sweet with her fellow flower girl Julia.
The flower girls

Little Ring Bearer had to walk up with Daddy :)

Mmmm, look at that cake!

Twirls and fun

That flower girl can dance!
Austin stayed until the end of the reception with the older two girls. They did great and had tons of fun, especially in the silly dress up photo booth that was there to make your own party favor. They took tons of goofy dress up pictures, but I think we forgot them in Corpus Christi!

Sitting with her great grandmother

After the wedding dust settled, we had some other fun including a trip to the beach with Lito and Armando (on the way, as we drove over the Laguna Stephen said, "I never, never jump in that pool, Mommy")

First ocean experience...she didn't like it much!

He was determined not to get in the water, but after I made him wash the orange cheetoh ick off his fingers, he loved the water!

Heading out with Daddy

My good citizens decided to clean up the beach by removing seaweed from the water!

Jumping waves is such fun!

Jump!
On the way home as we crossed back over the Laguna, Stephen said, "I like the beach, Daddy!"
The next day we headed to the Aquarium with Lito and cousins Vanessa and Serina
Touching the sting rays

They have a great splash pad!

they played hide and seek...run, Allia!

So excited about the sharks

This bird was making a high pitched squeal, and when Allia imitated him, he would answer her back. They talked for a long while, and he even whistled at her!

Nature walk

We went on a nature walk this morning with friends. We had a great time despite the warning signs of "large feline tracks spotted in park" when we arrived! We stuck to the wide open, graveled path instead of the more woodsy ones. :) Maybe next time we can get a better peek at the wildlife when we don't have to worry about becoming somebody's lunch!

Little visit

We had a surprise visit from Uncle James, Aunt Karen and Jared yesterday as they were leaving town after Jared's new student conference. We are so excited that he will be here in the fall! I had to snap a quick shot of Anastasia squeezing in some Auntie time before they left. They could only stay an hour, and she had just gone down for nap (thankfully by herself so I could visit!) when they arrived. She just happened to be sporting her Aggie gear (as were the other girls) because the girls dressed her for me yesterday. What a great surprise to see our future Aggie and family!

A nest

Austin found a mommy dove who built a nest in our hanging bougainvillea. I showed the children this morning after I watered it and scared the mommy bird away. I sure hope she comes back. :)

Talking baby

Anastasia finally said "Mama" this weekend. So sweet! She is our tiebreaker. The first two said "Dada" first, and now the three youngest have said "Mama." She is really close to saying dada and baba. I keep catching her moving her mouth to say those, but she is still struggling to make her voice cooperate with her mouth movements.

Happy 4th of July!

We went to our usual festival and picnic after mass in the morning and lunch out together. It was so great to have a holiday in the middle of the week!

On our way to the fun...

Playing games

Yummy watermelon!
We had lots of fun at the festival, but by the time we made it to the picnic, Anastasia was tired and woundn't stop screaming. So we ate quickly and left. Too bad...there were so many great families there we would have loved to visit with!

Everyone swimming!

Last week, Stephen finally braved the pool and decided he loves it! Yay! So now everyone swims when we go to the pool. So fun. We went last night for some family exercise before dinner. It was great!

Six Months Old!

Yay! I just love the six month mark. It usually means a little more sleep, more giggles and smiles, lots more baby cuteness including baby talk. What a fun age.

Never wanting for love or holding in this house!

Dr. Appt. stats: 13lb 5oz and 25 1/2 inches. The doc said your weight dropped off, so now I have to do some things to try and get you to gain weight. :( I hope it works!

Other updates: You are consistently sleeping 9 hours at night but like to go to bed at 7:30 or 8. So that gets us usually to 5am. Then you come in the bed with me until around 6:30. Naps are still not great but improving. You take 2, sometimes 3 by yourself and 1 or 2 on me most days. I think you are about to drop one soon. You are making lots of cute sounds including "wa, wa." No mama or dada yet. You love the pool and your siblings of course. We enjoy you so much sweet girl!

**You took all 4 of your naps today by yourself. Wow!
