Feast Day Concussion and a Swim meet and ice skating

This weekend we had a feast day celebration at church for our parish's patron St. Thomas Aquinas. We went to mass followed by a dinner. It was so nice to visit with some of our church friends! However, when it was almost time to go (why do things always happen right before bedtime?!), Anastasia decided to imitate some older kids who were improperly using some little kid equipment for the church day care. She climbed on top of this big plastic tree, and due to everyone else trying to do the same thing, was promptly pushed off head first. It was probably about a 4 foot fall, and she landed squarely on her head. She was crying in pain (this girl has a high pain tolerance) and then was strangely mellow/lethargic and a little disoriented. After this continued for about 15 minutes, we decided it was time to go! It lasted about another 30 minutes before she started acting normally. So scary! We watched her carefully the next 24 hours, but she has been fine except for head pain when she is too active. Whew! It was scary but we had nurse Manah with us, advising us as to what needed to be done. So thankful our sweet energetic girl is ok!
In other news, Allia had her first USA timed swim meet Sunday afternoon. I requested but didn't receive photos because they snagged Austin to help time events. She swam well and made some big improvements!

And Mariana passed her testing so she moved to the next level in figure skating! Yay!
