Sharing and sleeping

We have been doing a lot of sharing with Cecilia lately. She likes almost anything but eggs, especially if it comes off of one of our plates!

Cold weather!

We had a snap of refreshingly cold weather the last few days. It was so fun to go to the park in jackets and hats. It was gorgeous weather!
Gloria was so sweet swinging Cecilia and playing this little spinning peekaboo game with her.

Swim Team Halloween Party

Our 3 swimmers enjoyed the Halloween party for their team last night. They have been planning and making costumes for weeks now. We don't usually dress up for Halloween, but we figured it was harmless enough to let them participate in the team party. They had a good time, although I think they expected a little more excitement! Now we will focus on getting ready for All Saints Day!

Robotics champs!

The Brazos Valley Fair held it's first annual robotics challenge, and Mariana's team won first overall! Yay!!!

 

 

More fall

We keep having short bursts of fall weather that draw everyone outside to play. The kids all raked this leaf pile together and had fun jumping in. Sebastian was pouting because he tried to make his own pile, but it got raked into the big one!

Robotics Wednesday

Every Wednesday afternoon is now Robotics Wednesday at our house. Mariana's team was at a loss for a meeting place, and I figured the big table would fit perfectly on our dining table (and it's one less place to drive!) so we offered to host. The crazy thing is that it started with her team of 5 and has grown now to 3 teams of 5 plus a few parents, siblings, extras. So it is quite a housefull. But like I tell everyone that marvels....with 7 kids I feel like our house is so often full of noise and chaos that it really isn't a big deal! ;)

Pumpkin Patch!

We made our annual trip to the Pumpkin Patch yesterday. Allia generously let me use her camera for part of the pictures, so we got some good ones! And, as always, the kids really enjoyed picking pumpkins.

 

Playing at Manah's

Cecilia loves to visit Manah and Pawpaw's house. I try to take her for a bit each day, although some days we just don't make it. She really likes the little rocking chairs in the living room.

First Posole!

Cecilia is quite the eater. She was eating soft foods like avocado, banana and sweet potato. But lately she has been spoiled by Daddy giving her bites off his plate. Now she almost always refuses "baby" food and insists on eating whatever we have. This is quite tricky since she still only has two little teeth. Last night's dinner was Posole, so of course she was not happy when I tried to just feed her some of the avocado we had to go with it. So she ended up with a tray full of the meat and hominy and ate it all! She was even smacking her lips. She really likes savory flavors!

Intrasquad meet/ First swim meet

We had the first swim meet of the fall/winter season with 3 swimmers this year. It was Gloria and Stephen's first meet. All 3 swam very well, with Allia knocking off quite a bit of time off her times from last year's short course seasons!

National Night Out

We braved the rain and mud to go to our neighborhood National Night Out party last night. It was well worth it. They had some cool stuff this year including jousting, rock wall climbing and mini golf. So fun to enjoy a night out with family and neighbors.
