Safe Sitter #3

Gloria completed her safe sitter course this afternoon, so we now have 3 qualified babysitters in the family!

Wilderness Camp

Stephen and Anastasia are in Wilderness Survival camp this week in the morning, and they are loving every minute. We signed up with friends so that makes it even better! They have learned what plants are edible, how to build a shelter, build a fire pit and light a fire, how to use mud as camouflage and lots of other fun stuff. Yesterday after pick up they took us on a little trek to show off some of their hard work.

 

 

 

 

Weekend travels (again)

This weekend we had Mariana off to Dallas for Steubenville Lonestar for the weekend on Friday. Then Austin, Stephen and Gloria traveled to a swim meet Saturday.

Mariana had an awesome time on her trip. And our two swimmers did so great. Stephen earned two more "B" times and missed a third one by 1/100 of a second. Gloria got really close in two of her events too!

Ready for Lita's

We are planning to go to Lito and Lita's for July 4th. I got this new life jacket for Cecilia to wear while we are there (I am terrified of her drowning at a big gathering with a pool because it is so easy for me to get distracted). I was hoping it would be comfortable for her to wear all day, and boy was I right. She has been wearing it for 3 days now and keeps saying, "I am ready to swim at 'Wita's' house." So cute. She added the little swim hat to the outfit. We've got a few weeks to go, girlie!

Summer movie!

Several of the younger kids have been asking when they will get to see a movie in the theater. So we decided to take advantage of the summer movie clubhouse yesterday morning and see The Grinch on the big screen. They really enjoyed it, and Cecilia behaved so well. She snuggled into Anastasia's seat almost the entire time! (Stephen was there too but on the other side of me, so not in the photo).

Little artist

This cute guy has really been doing a lot of artwork lately and is so proud of it. He is really making some improvements (not pictured here since it's a restaurant coloring page!).

Happy Father's Day!

We had a nice day together as a family after being apart all week. Allia and I scored some board games (among other things!) at the parish garage sale Friday afternoon. So we played lots of games. Pawapaw even joined in Bingo after dinner.

We are so thankful for the Fathers in our lives. We are looking forward to seeing Lito for the 4th of July!

Library trip

While we were waiting for the camp girls to return yesterday (they rode home with a friend this year) we went to the library to sign up for the summer reading program. These guys had so much fun while Allia browsed books!

Saturday, time to go :(

What we were up to while they were gone...
 The tile guys came Monday and Tuesday. Then Allia and I got busy painting/redecorating/organizing! The girls asked for blue with a purple accent wall.

 

We missed them so much and are so happy to have them home...post-camp blues and all. ;)
