Allia moved into her new place this week. So we delivered Melon to her. He liked exploring the new place. We sure enjoyed fostering him for a few months. Some of us will miss him more than others! I am thankful, though, because I am having eye surgery tomorrow and will be glad to have a few less responsibilities for myself and the kids while I recover!
Stephen attended and Gloria staffed this year for our parish's annual Teen Retreat. They had a great time and came back completely exhausted but still squeezed in a swim gathering this evening at one of the boys' houses!
A little role reversal here for these two early morning buddies. He was helping groom her when she brushed her hair!
It was a busy week with VBS in the morning, Boot Camp in the evening, and Gloria squeezing in work too. But we made it. Stephen tried out with a new partner. They did great and both moved up teams. I am so proud of my dancers and can't wait to watch them dance this year!
We are so blessed to have such amazing families in our marriage group, and the kids get along so well too. So they always beg, especially during the summer, to make it a "family" gathering instead of a married couples gathering. One of the families generously invited everyone for dinner, swimming, volleyball and all sorts of fun. What a way to wrap up the week!
It started out with a hurricane, so we spent Monday at home watching movies and working on a house project (the entryway!). The kids were disappointed but I'm not sure about the adults. ;)
Mariana led the music team with Anastasia joining her. I led Cecilia's 2nd grade group, Gloria volunteered with 4th grade when she wasn't working, and Stephen was the Assistant Game Boss for the 3rd year in a row! We barely saw Sebastian since he was in the youth group style VBS for 4th/5th graders, but he had fun too.
We went to Lito and Lita's house for a shrimp boil at lunchtime as well as some swimming and good family time.
