First Mow!

Allia had her first mowing experience yesterday with Pawpaw's front yard. She has been wanting to learn. She did pretty well except for taking off the sunglasses I sent to protect her eyes! :0

First Swim!!!

It was 88 degrees yesterday and we had just redeemed our HEBuddy points for swim floats (finally a non-junky prize!), so the kids were all begging to go to the pool. I reluctantly agreed that we would stay for 30 minutes, they had to get the little ones ready, and I would not get in. Deal made.

"Are you sure this is supposed to be fun, Mama? They are all screaming like crazy."

 

 Gloria finally coaxed him in.

 They were all so excited! And of course, we had the pool all to ourselves.

 

Of course, Anastasia had forgotten how to swim since last year and spent most of the time in her float. Then, to my surprise, at minute 29 she figured it out again. We were both SO excited! Welcome back, my little fish! :)

Reading together

Anastasia has really been coming into her big sister role lately. It sure is sweet to watch.

First Holy Communion

We had the great joy of celebrating Gloria's First Holy Communion with family and friends this weekend!
I went with her to the dress rehearsal Saturday morning.

We were up bright and early to get ready (especially Gloria, who was up with Lito at 6 because she was so excited!).

 Lito escorted Gloria since they were the first 2 ready so she could be there early and he could save us some seats!

The mass was beautiful. We were able to sit in the pew right behind her. She did beautifully, and it was so great to see that big smile of joy on her face afterwards!

There was a little reception afterwards at the church

 Gloria adores baby Charlotte and has been begging for us to have a baby like her. She got her wish I guess!

We had a party at the house afterward and were blessed with good friends and family to join us!

Each child took home a ball for a party favor (got this idea from Lita...she bought these for Mariana's First Communion Party favors, and they were such a hit and so simple!).

 Unfortunately Pawpaw had some health issues, so he and Manah had to miss the mass and official party but were able to come celebrate with us a little in the evening. Sebastian loved bouncing this ball with Pawpaw!

Hot Shots

Stephen did great at Hot Shots again. They did some scrimmages, and he scored 2 goals for his team!

Spring Piano Recital

The girls had their recital yesterday, and it went very well. They each played one piece that they performed at the solo festival in February for a judge. They all received Superior ratings.

Little moments

Pawpaw ordered some dirt for him and us. He had lots of little helpers! And when the the neighbors came home from school, all the big kids really did help me by shoveling and wheelbarrowing to our house. It was amazing! All I had to do was spread the dirt where we wanted it!

 This little guy looked so cute up on this grassy hill. The girls just had to snap some photos of him!

More soccer

Stephen didn't want to go to his class Friday, but I managed to talk him into it. And then they played one of his favorite games, tails. He won 2 of the games. That kid is an awesome runner!

Allia had an early game today. She played forward the first half and made a really good shot at the goal that bounced off the top. :/ Then she played goalie 2nd half. Final score was 7-0 with her team winning.
