Spring "Break"

Well, this week has been wild and crazy but lots of fun. It seems that we cannot help but do major house projects over spring break. So even with a 2 month old, this year is no exception! Austin built a corner garden with the girls and then everyone (including visitors!) helped lay sod in the half of our yard formerly filled with weeds.

*Edited to include "garden" photo and carnival photos

Mariana sports "big pigtails" in honor of Aunt Karen, Jake and Jared visiting

Thanks, Jake, for helping!

The garden...this new one has a nectarine tree in the middle and flower seeds planted (hopefully to bloom in a month or two) as opposed to Austin's other garden with a grape vine and pepper plants.

Just a little cornmeal

Mariana apparently doesn't care for it.

(We have brown patch in our backyard, and Austin found a natural remedy...lots of cornmeal spread in the yard...so he let the girls help. Leave it to Mariana to dump it on herself!)

Water, anyone?

Now that's what I call scary. I might be drinking my neighbors' leftover prescription drugs. Yum.

Weigh-in

Well, she may be #3 but not when it comes to size! Gloria weighed in at 12lb 5 oz today, several ounces more than her sisters at this age...and she was several ounces less than them at birth (sisters were both 8lb1oz, Gloria was 7lb14oz). Yay for our fast-growing girl! Oh, and she *hated* the shots of course. Poor baby.

Snow?

Yes, it was snow. No big deal to you Northerners, but we never see snow here, especially not the really big pretty white snowflakes. We just opened up the shades this morning and then went running out the door once we noticed. It lasted a whole 30 minutes. Now it is sunny, breezy and around 50 degrees out. Crazy weather!

And the winner is...

Austin! He entered a contest where the Masters students make a poster depicting their thesis and present it at the Departmental banquet, and he won first place. I am SO proud. He also gets a monetary award for winning...lucky guy!

2 months old

Our little Gloria turns 2 months old today! What a blessing she has been! Please pray for her tomorrow, as she will have her first lovely vaccination experience!

She is very well loved!
