sweet condolences

As I pouted this evening that my sweet, very handsomely dressed husband was off to enjoy an evening at the BVCL benefit with all (or at least most) of the most wonderful, pro-life people in this community...while I stayed at home with 2 attention-hungry youngsters and a fussy baby....

Mariana (as she gently grabs my hand): Awwwwww...I will stay with you Mommy.

How sweet...and she was very good tonight which is more than I can say for the whole bunch!

lunchtime generosity

(Mysterious knawed-on piece of bread crust ends up on my plate while I tend to baby)

Mommy: Hmmmm...that is not my bread.

Mariana (grinning): Nooooo...that is not your bread.

Mommy: Here, you have it back sweetie.

Mariana: No, Mommy, I am sharing my bread with you.

Mommy:......um....thanks but I already had some. Here ya go.

Allia's little six week ballet class ended yesterday, and they did a cute little mini recital for us including this dance where they used ribbons and danced around pretending to be bees, cats and then birds. So cute! (I wish I knew how to post the video!) Unfortunately two of the students had to miss due to illness and a death in the family. These four did a great job though. Thanks Tia/Miss Becky for a great class!!!

My wonderful, intelligent, courageous, talented, amazing (shall I go on?) hubby successfully defended his thesis today! Congratulations, Austin! Master's Degree here we come!

Summer

is here...at least inside our house. I got down the swimsuit bin to see what we have and what we still need for the upcoming season. But before I could complete my task, some little people found the bin and played summer all day...they swam on, ahem in, their fish blanket. Allia had herself so convinced it was summer by the end of the day that she went running out of the house in her swimsuit and was back in under a minute shouting in a surprised voice, "It is cold out there." Imagination can only do so much, you know!
