We took a week vacation to Seacrest Beach, Florida with our friends, the K family. It was SO MUCH FUN! Tack on 2 travel days each way, and we were gone for a long time.
We arrived on a Sunday afternoon/evening. The "babies" of the two families hit it off well with the Neverland Pirate Ship (a church garage sale find!).
We made a quick non-swimming trip to the beach to check it out
Then, Max cooked up an awesome Spaghetti meal for us for dinner
Our awesome third floor view
The rest of the week was full of beach and pool fun. First the beach...
Some friends from church lent us this Minnow Seine. It was quite a hit. The children loved being able to touch and hold fish and also made them some temporary habitats for further observation (we did eventually send them back to their ocean homes, though!).
The older crew went on an after dark crab walk with the Dads. Tons of fun!
The neighborhood we stayed in also had a really nice pool and hot tub, so we went there a few times when we didn't feel quite up for a big beach venture...
And a friendly neighbor informed us that going to the beach after dinner made for really nice pictures with the setting sun, so we couldn't resist! (Luckily sunset here was much earlier!)
Me with my favorite beach bum. ;)
We enjoyed some amazing fireworks for the 4th on our last night...some of us from the beach and some from the balcony. Stephen was super excited to be allowed to stay up and watch!
And as we were packing up the next morning, look what we saw over the water! Yikes!
And a little hotel fun on the way home
Plus a little video for fun.
Thanks be to God for such a wonderful vacation!
