What a week!

Allia had a very big week and weekend. We found out Monday that a piano performance/competition that we thought was supposed to be at the beginning of April was to be done Thursday night. And she didn't have one of her pieces memorized yet. She worked very hard with lots of extra practice and was able to pull of a pretty good performance. We will get results in April.

Then she had her championship swim meet for the season Friday/Saturday/Sunday. I drove Allia and a friend there Friday night then left them at Lito and Lita's house on my way back. Lito generously drove them to the meet Saturday morning and drove Allia Sunday morning since the meet was closer to them. We all took the opportunity to make the trip to their house Saturday and spend the day. It was lots of fun and so nice to see them.

Breakfast buddies before we left Saturday morning.
Enjoying the (heated) pool! They swam twice that day and had so much fun! At one point Mariana even gave Anastasia swimming lessons, and her freestyle looked pretty good!
Lita had cupcakes ready to decorate after lunch.

Cecilia did a good job napping at Lita's and woke up with the craziest nap hair!
After dinner, Allia performed her pieces on Lito and Lita's newly refinished piano! It was so beautiful.
Then on Sunday Allia ended up staying the whole day at the meet because the friend she was carpooling with made finals. And much to our surprise and joy she ended up making finals as well!

A hug from coach Shannon

She swam incredibly well this weekend, and we are SO thankful and proud of her! We owe Lito and Lita a great thanks too because I am sure she was better rested by staying at their house since she would have had to get up at 5am to go to the meet from here. What a great weekend!
